The launch of the American Friends of Terme Alte di Porretta on October 14th in Washington, DC, was a resounding success. The restoration project for the ancient Terme Alte garnered widespread acclaim during the 48th Annual NIAF event and gala, graced by the honorary presence of President Joe Biden and the First Lady—the first Italian American to reside in the White House. The event also honored the Emilia-Romagna region and President Stefano Bonaccini, alongside distinguished honorees like Veronica Bocelli , Stefano Domenicali and others.
Our delegation had the privilege of being received by the Italian Ambassador to the US, Marina Angela Zappia, who graciously hosted a splendid reception at her residence in Washington, DC. The presentation of our vital and urgently needed restoration project could not have been better received. Recent weeks of challenging weather conditions have underscored the urgency and importance of raising funds promptly, appealing to the international community to help us safeguard this cultural and historical heritage.
We eagerly anticipate hearing from you and remain committed to sharing excellent articles and updates about the ancient Terme Alte di Porretta and its surroundings. A warm welcome to the blog, the mission, good cause, and a hertfelt thanks,
